Charlyn Marsh, Principal & Teacher
Charlyn began her teaching career at Hillside Christian School right out of college in 1990. After a few years, she decided to stay home to raise her children. Her husband, Jody, taught at Hillside during this time and she continued to come to the school to teach music.
When Charlyn’s children began school, she increased the time she spent at the school by teaching reading. One year she taught a group of 3 Kindergartners. She loved it and says it was a fun experience!
A few years ago, Charlyn’s husband took a job teaching in a public school so she went back to her original job as Principal and teacher of Hillside Christian School. She truly loves teaching - each day is an adventure!
Charlyn is a product of Adventist Education and she firmly believes Adventist Education is high quality education in a safe, caring environment. She loves teaching in a small school because she teaches many of the same students year after year. She can watch them change and grow physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. She especially loves when former students stop by to say ‘hi’ on their school breaks. It tells her they had a positive experience at the school.
